The topic of the study is issue assessing safety use autonomous type vessels and suitable criteria for mode operation, which has a priority status, since currently large number prototypes such are planned to be launched. It noted that classification societies determine rules construction this vessels. Using method analyzing types consequences failures, well-established in aerospace industry second half last century, suggested paper. For purpose, concept risk taken from analysis ratings failures occurrence used. All parameters determining obtained during accidents various vessels, including those, without crew. rating failure navigation, critical detection considered. Each these includes ten levels. assessment levels consists four stages. Initially, it necessary identify potential modes. Then evaluated. each operational namely manual control, remote or scenario calculated. calculation results carried out proposals formulated recommendations corrective actions given. have shown under same conditions, range level varies depending on operating modes an vessel. presented table choice given graphically visual direction danger. proposed approach makes possible choose most safe operation risk, as well predict actions.
